Students of the Department of Optometry with Factors of Department Selection and Grade, Major Satisfaction

Abstract
Objectives: Students department of optometry selection related factors(information gathering,reason, time of department selection), the research and analysis. Selection a department to analyze the impact of information on grade and major satisfaction. We want to help students understand and career guidance.

Methods: We surveyed 319 students of the department optometry(Jeonbuk, Gyeongnam, Daejeon, Chungbuk, Gyeonggi) and distribute the questionnaires were collected and analyzed.

Results: Information gathering of invite the family was the highest 41.0%, to reason possibility of employment were the highest 33.5%, to time highest 54.8% application period. The factors associated with grade, oneself(3.05¡¾0.75), profession(3.08¡¾0.76), change major or graduate(3.13¡¾0.80) were the highest. Major satisfaction was highest oneself(3.10¡¾0.54) 22.6% of the total and family¡¯s opinion (2.92¡¾0.50) showed little high it 41.0% of the total. Professions(3.11¡¾0.47) are highest dependent on thegrade was lowest(2.64¡¾0.57). They were most satisfied when the selected before high schooler(3.00¡¾1.73), and they were most dissatisfied when the application period(2.81¡¾0.58). Grade and major satisfaction were statistically significant(p<0.05). Students of optometry highest grade and satisfaction when they choose before high schooler or high school age, professional, oneself. But students most frequently application period, possibility of employment, family¡¯s opinion. They was lowest grade and satisfaction.

Conclusions: Students department of optometry with most frequently that invite the family, possibility of employment, application period. But these lower major satisfaction and grades. Many students maybe in the process of adaptation after admission likely difficulty or to change the department. We think glass industry in order to develop industry and academia need to promote the professionalism of the optician.
